Black Cod, also known as Sablefish is an excellent option for any meal. Sablefish is famous for its white flesh, has a rich oil content that makes it exceptionally flavourful. It's melt-in-your-mouth, oil-rich meat.

The meat has large, white flakes and is excellent for grilled, seared or smoked. it is high in omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA, with amounts comparable to those in wild salmon.

Cooking Instructions: Seared Japanese Style Sablefish with Teriyaki Sauce

1. Cut the fillet into 2cm thick slices

2. Pour 3/4 cup teriyaki sauce in a small bowl

3. Marinate the slices with the sauce in the refrigerator for 2 hours.

4. Sear the slices on a non-stick pan over medium heat on each side for 3

Defrost Method:

OverNight: Place fillet on a thick layer of paper towel, cover with Food Film. Defrost in refrigerator overnight. Rinse, Pat Dry.

Quick: Submerge the sealed bag in cold water for 30 minutes. Remove fillet from the bag, Rinse, Pat Dry.
